Description Ronin’s Remote Medic Course uses the Institute of Health Care Development Paramedic modules (IHCD module G, H, I & J) as well as the Ship Captains Medic Award accredited by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) as a basis for its training. Eligible Ambulance Technicians (IHCD Ambulance Aid Certification) and returning Ronin Intermediate Remote Medic graduates can apply to complete the Advanced Remote Medic Course.

The course aim is to train Medics with sufficient skills & knowledge to work independently in a remote setting in some of the world most hostile and challenging environments e.g.
  • anti-piracy operation aboard ships,
  • aboard aircraft
  • on remote expeditions
  • in high risk close protection environments
  • and remote special forces operations.
Ronin's Remote Medicine Courses are presented in conjunction with the Division of Emergency Medicine of the Universities of Cape Town and Stellenbosch.

  • Analgesia within the Remote Medical Setting
  • Antibiotics within the Remote Medical Setting
  • Remote Dentistry within the Remote Medical Setting

Phase 4: 8 Weeks Residential Theory Phase

Phase 5: 400 hours within your current front line service

Phase 6: 8 Weeks Residential Practical Phase in Partnership with the Division of Emergency Medicine of University of Cape Town & Stellenbosch University
