Dear Family & Friends,

The Staff and Graduates of Ronin extend sincerest
condolences to Stef’s family and friends at this time of loss.

We are proud
to have known Stef and we will remember him always as our colleague and
friend.

May you rest in peace our brother, until we meet again … all that
separates us is time, yet even that is bridged with respect and the memories.

It is with regret I learned of Stef's passing, even though I never met him he is
a fellow Brother, I hope I can live up to his memory as I start on my quest.

To Stef’s Family & Friends

I am a fellow graduate (Pete V). I am in Baghdad
at present and have been for 16 months, I was on the ground the day the incident
happened, although I was in town as apposed to the BIAP Road.

It is with great
regret and sadness that I came to know that a fellow colleague had died, I pray
that he will be met in heaven with open arms and also pray that God may ease the
grief of his family and friends.

If my mother has said it once she as said it a
hundred times, pack it in, the money isn’t worth it! It isn’t the money, we
are here by choice, we are not normal guys who could do normal jobs, we are
committed and our colleagues are as good as family. Please forgive me for this,
although a massive and sad waste of life, he died doing a job he loved, guys
like this would die before their time, working in a normal style/type job.

I
never had the privilege to meet him, but I salute Him… Should this ...

Dear Family,

It is with huge regret that I learnt about the unfortunate death
of Stef.

I was on the same course as Stef and will always remember him as the
happy smiling guy, who always loved a laugh. As I sit writing this I am looking
over the pictures of the course and all the memories are good ones.

I again met
Stef in Baghdad in November of last year and he was the same happy person I
remembered. You meet people throughout your life, some you forget about some you
don’t. Stef is one you could not forget.

Our brother Stef might no longer
be here in person but he will live on in our hearts and minds forever.

I am currently in Iraq when I heard about our Brother.

I had the privilege to
teach Steff and the honour to have known him as a man, he was always the one
smiling and he will remain in my heart and thoughts for ever, may he rest in the
arms of the Ronin family angels, with peace and honour.

We are proud to have
had the time with you. My Condolences to Steff’s family and friends.

I am at this moment employed in Iraq and understand the conditions that they
worked under. I think the quote does his memories justice.

"Some people
live all their lives without knowing which path is right. They're buffeted by
this wind or that and never really know where they're going. That's largely the
fate of the commoners--those who have no choice over their destiny. For those of
us born as samurai, life is something else. We know the path of duty and we
follow it without question." - Ronin Oishi Kuranosuke; the leader of the 47
Ronin

THE GREATNESS OF SOLDIERS

Let all who come after us know the sacrifices we men
made here today,
Tell all how though we faded from this world, a stage wrought
with the evil of men and the irony of fate, we were able to rise beyond our
expected potential, We did not die for a king, country, or creed, we fought and
died for each other, for our brothers who bled for us and with us, Even though
we died in the midst of a cruel practice, we rose beyond nature here today, no
longer are we beasts, we now are men, Sacrifice and courage in themselves gave
our lives true meaning.

In honour of our fallen comrade STEFAN
SURETTE

Condolences to all Stef's family and friends.

Steve R (Fellow Ronin
brother)
